Hanged at Windsor and afterwards in chains there. Friday, 9 March 1764 at Windsor and afterwards hanged in chains there (Northampton Mercury) Thomas Watkins indicted for the murder of Mary Holland, spinster, by strangling her with a hemp cord, in the parish of New Windsor on 3rd October 1763. Having been found guilty of the murder he was not tried on the lesser charge of burglary in the dwelling house of Elizabeth Hamersley, who was a witness to the murder.
